Our History
UPC Leadership PAC was created to support candidates and causes that promote the goals stated – to Dream Big; demand more and create opportunity for all of Louisiana.
When do we want better?
OUR State
OUR state has plenty to boast about...Louisiana produces the best cotton, rice, seafood, soybeans, strawberries, sugar and sweet potatoes in the world; has the largest port (by tonnage) in the Western Hemisphere; represents the best in food, sports, music and is home to the most diverse culture in America - that's a fact. Don't believe it...
- Louisiana Sugar is produced on 400,000+ acres of land in 22 Parishes, employing ~17,000, has an economic impact of nearly $2bn on OUR state
- Louisiana Rice industry provides $1.3 billion in total output, more than 5,300 jobs...adding a total value to OUR state’s economy of $746 million
- Louisiana Forestry industries added $4.4 billion to the state economy; employs 24,000+ and is OUR states second largest manufacturing employer
- Louisiana Tourism employs 242,200 people...contributed $1.9bn in sales taxes for OUR state and remains one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the U.S.
- Louisiana Seafood had an economic impact of $2.4 billion in '20...producing 850m pounds per year, it is the largest commercial fishing industry in the U.S.
- Louisiana Ports handle ~15% of all U.S. exports , including 41% of all waterborne agricultural exports...it's the largest tonnage port system in the U.S.
- Louisiana Transportation is home to the only port with access to six Class-I Railroads...and OUR Louis Armstrong Airport is the busiest non-hub U.S. airport
- Louisiana Oil & Gas accounted for 9% of U.S. total gas production; 20% of the nations refinery capacity; employs 249,800 and a $73b impact on OUR state
- Louisiana Sports produces more professional and Olympic athletes (per capita) than any other state
- Louisiana Music has produced more Grammy nominations and winners (per capita) than any other state in the Union
- Louisiana Resiliency and Work Ethic is second to no other state in the Union; despite enduring hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, fires, ice storms and drought, OUR people continue to help make America the greatest nation on earth - and that's a fact!
